Hello and welcome to Travel Instruction.

My name is Dave and I am a professional photographer and world traveller, who has recently combined his two passions to become a travel photographer.

It is pretty obvious what Travel Instruction is about and I started this blog to bring you on my journey as a travel the world, explore new places and continue to work.

I have been a photographer in my home in the UK for the past 10 years. I was gifted a camera by my parents on my 16th birthday and haven’t put one down since. I studied photography at college, undertook many evening courses to develop my skills and interned for years.

I was very fortunate to be able to save for equipment, have mentors during my internships who taught me invaluable lessons and had clients who at the early stages really look a chance with me.

When I reached the age of 20 and deciding university wasn’t for me, I decided to see a bit of the world and took off with my best friend to China. We literally picked a country out of a hat and off we went for 3 months exploring China, Nepal and Taiwan. All I packed was a small rucksack full of only the essentials and my camera ready to capture a world I had never seen before.

Fast forward 10 years and I still haven’t lost that passion and intrigue for travel or photography, now dedicating my whole career to showcasing the unseen world to the masses.

I have been fortunate enough to visit some incredible places and come off the beaten track, seeing the world from a completely new perspective.

I’ve had the pleasure of working with some of the biggest and best documentaries on TV and film to capture moments in time in places I’d never thought I’d visit, using my carer as a way to travel even more.

I started Travel Instruction to document my time away, share my photography, skills and tips and also inspire those who wish to also see the rest of the world.

From what to pack to the best-hidden secrets on where to go, to the best camera equipment on a budget and how to capture the best shot, you’ll be able to find it all here on Travel Instruction.

As well as the above you’ll also be able to see inside my world as I document my time away, projects and everything in between.
